Intel Architecture…

Ah! Computers, processor architectures, assembly languages. These three share the most intertwined relation. I came across an article recently by one Robert P. Colwell who analyzes a very earlier architecture of Intel, predecessor of the now ubiquitous i386 architecture, the Intel 432(1988). This surmises the basic architecture and the pitfalls in decisions taken by the makers of the chip and the workarounds. You can get the article here.

Where are the jobs?

November 3, 2008 at 8:11 am (Uncategorized) (, )

The question on every graduating student this year. Even the good colleges are seeing a drop in the number of visiting companies for placements. Everyone knows that the recession is to be blamed, dont we? ;)

But, fear not. There is actually a positive side to these things. People working in the BPO sector might get a boost, as more companies try to reduce their operating costs by outsourcing things. Same goes for people in RnD. Manufacturing jobs prospects look bleak owing to the slow down in economy.

Let’s hope the concerted effort by the governments pays off and the economy goes in the black again.
